SUMMER PROGRAM

Summer camps are led by our talented faculty and friends of Paideia. Your children will enjoy enhancing skills, learning new ones, and building relationships throughout the summer months.

All camps are open to both Paideia students and non-students. Paideia families are encouraged to participate and invite their friends.

2024 Summer Camps | Full Descriptions

Alice in Wonderland Movement & Art Camp

Led by alumna Hallie Garber for rising grades K-6

June 3-7 | M-F 9 AM – 1 PM

Location: Drop off and pickup in the assembly room at Paideia Academy.

Camp will engage in Alice in Wonderland themed creative movement exercises, arts, games and more! At the end of the week, we will have an informal performance for family and friends to come watch. No dance experience required. The movement will not focus on technique but will focus on fun and using creative outlets to praise the Lord.

Iron (Fe) Strong Girls Camp

Led by Janet Carr for rising 8-12 grades (girls)

June 10 – 14 | M-F 9 AM – 12 PM

Fe: n. female; strength, courage, grace, beauty. Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

All rising 8-12 grade females are welcome! Come join us for a week of fun while exploring important topics of nutrition, hospitality, body image, and self-care. In addition to hands-on activities – cooking, hand-sewing, lifting “irons”, and more. We will explore God’s Word for truths surrounding strength, courage, grace, and beauty as we grow into women after God’s own heart.

Latin Catch-Up Camp

Led by Tracey Carrin for rising 6 grade

June 24-28 | M-F 9 AM – 12:30 PM

This catch-up class will cover Second Form Latin (lessons 9-12). We will also be reviewing First Form Latin.

Cursive for Older Students Camp

Led by Tracey Carrin for rising 5-12 grades

June 24-28 | M-F 1:15 PM – 2:30 PM

Location: Paideia Classroom (please check in at the front office)

Students will learn the cursive alphabet, and letter connections, and get lots of practice writing cursive. The camp includes a book that you may take home at the end of the week.

Guy Stuff Camp

Led by David Leach for grades 4-7 (boys)

June 24 – 28 | M-F 9:00 AM – 12 PM

Location: pick up and drop off in Nicene Hall at Paideia Academy

This camp is for young men interested in gaining a variety of skills. Some activities might include chopping wood, building a fire and cooking over it, surviving a bear attack, telling a joke, sewing a button, using a map and compass, building a shelter, changing a flat tire, shooting a bow, sharpening a knife and other fun things.

Learn to Crochet

Led by alumna Hallie Garber for rising grades 7-12

June 24-28 | M-F 9:30 AM – 12 Noon

We will go over basic crochet techniques and then create a stuffed crochet snail for each camper to take home. All materials will be provided, and the students can choose what colors to use.

Girls Basketball Camp

Led by Mr. & Mrs. Aanestad for rising grades 5-12

July 1-3 | M-W 8:30 AM – 12 Noon

Join us for some fun honing our skills by doing drills on fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, and shooting and using those skills in scrimmaging. We’ll be focusing on concepts related to offense and defense strategy. This camp is for all skill levels, emphasizing helping those new to basketball gain confidence in their knowledge and abilities.

Art Camp with Mrs. Fancher

Led by Janet Fancher for rising grades 2-6

July 8-12 | M-F 9 AM – 12 Noon

We will be working on a painting, a colored pencil drawing, and a black and white pencil drawing. One will be a landscape, one will be an animal and the other a still life.

Tennis & Pickleball Camp

Led by Mrs. Monge for rising grades 3-12

Tennis Camp: July 15-19 | M-F 8 AM – 10 AM

Pickleball Camp: July 15-19 | M-F 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Location: Drop off and Pick Up at the West Hills Tennis Court (410 N Winston Rd. Knoxville, TN 37909)

Ever wanted to learn tennis or the fastest-growing sport pickleball? Maybe you already know how to play but want to get better. This camp is for you! You can sign up for one or you can bundle both camps together for a discounted price. A snack and water bottle will be provided during each camp session. All pickleball equipment will be provided. Tennis racquets will be provided to elementary students, but 6th – 12th graders will need to bring their own tennis racquets. The last day of camp will be a pool party at the Village Green Pool (323 Heritage Dr. Farragut TN 37934) from 10 am – 2 pm which is also next to a tennis court for play time.
